Preliminary Information for "TAIGA-What-Next"
Below, we will temporarily keep informations for ongoing TAIGA-related discussions.
WideArea Internet Connection:
- 3 Mbps (up to 30 GB/day uplink)
- 10 Mbps update is a standard upgrade option of the provider
- a 30/54 Mbps line is realistic (a matter of negotiations)
- remote access to site is stable and routinely used (remote control of IACT #1)
- remote operation from Irkutsk, Moscow, Zeuthen routinely done
- problems are very rare, only in case of rare main power outages
- LAN/WLAN on site is very stable, professionally managed. Available in laboratories, hostels, in the field.
- Cellular network is available (local+national provider; 3G (4G?)), and good. (SIM for 5Eur/month w/ 10GB!)
- Facilities
A new large workshop building was finished summer 2018, see foto TAIGA,2018. Ready for HiS assembly, IACT camera test. It is in front of the "old hotel", and next to the dormitory bungalows.
- A small separate laboratory / dark room is available for TAIGA-IACT cameras next to this.

We added more temperature plots for various averaging intervals: monthly, 3-days, daily variation (max. temp - min. temperature), and for daily temperature for Dec.2018 - January 2019.
