The SST1M Camera and the TAIGA Telescope: Test of the SST1M Camera under extreme weather conditions and operation together with the TAIGA instrument in the Tunka-Valley in Siberia
This is the wiki space of the RSF-funded Consortium that plans to operate the SST-1M Camera, based on SiPMs and originally developed for CTA, in the framework of the TAIGA-Observatory in the Tunka Valley, Siberia.
The SST-1M Camera will operate as "TAIGA-SST1M" together with the Hybrid TAIGA Gamma Observatory, that consist of
- a 1km2 array of HiSCORE wide angle Air Cerenkov stations and
- Imaging Air Cerenkov Telescopes (IACTs)
This will be the first CTA-designed SST (Small Size Telescope) that starts routine observation in the Multi-TeV domain.
